Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking an IT Software Development Advisor Sr to lead a team in design, development, maintenance, testing and debugging of software, ensuring alignment with SDLC and business objectives.

Ideal candidates will have extensive experience guiding project scope, overseeing specifications, and delivering high-quality software while mentoring colleagues and coordinating with stakeholders across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Nine or more years of related experience with five years in program development and three years in specialized programming.
  • Deep knowledge of software development processes and SDLC.
  • Experience interviewing, hiring and developing staff.

Responsibilities

  • Determines impact of new programs on existing system operations and ensures compatibility.
  • Oversees development of system specifications with business users; determines the feasibility of the resulting projects.
  • Oversees design, development, maintenance, testing and debugging of software ensuring SDLC guidelines are followed.
  • Formulates/defines project scope and objectives.
  • Leads the development, modification, and maintenance of software to meet company needs and user suggestions.
  • Prepares program documentation including administrator and end user help documents.
  • Directs other analyst/programmers; assigns, prioritizes and monitors workload.
  • Provides guidance and training to team; prepares status reports to department manager.

Information Systems or Computer Science major preferred.Nine (9) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required to include five (5) years of program development experience with three (3) years specialized programming relative to program needs.
