Job summary

The Department of Family and Community Services is seeking an IT Systems Administrator 1 in Juneau to provide daily support for site file and print servers, manage Active Directory tasks with PowerShell, and deploy GPOs for secure configurations.

The role includes basic datacenter provisioning, system monitoring, and WAN network support, with travel to remote sites as needed. This is a great opportunity to work in Alaska’s government IT environment.

Qualifications

• Customer service approach to assess needs and resolve issues.
• Knowledge of network management, telecommunication systems, and peripherals.
• Ability to apply technical knowledge and advise on issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily support for site file and print servers, ensuring reliable access and timely issue resolution.
• Perform Active Directory tasks including account maintenance and group updates, using PowerShell for automation.
• Author, test, and deploy Group Policy Objects to ensure secure configurations.
• Assist with basic datacenter provisioning, hardware handling, and system monitoring.
• Support WAN operations, plan and troubleshoot Ethernet/Wi‑Fi, traveling to remote sites as needed.
