Job summary

Mesa County is seeking a Help Desk Specialist to provide frontline technical support to staff. You will analyze user needs, recommend hardware and software options, and assist with configuration and maintenance of operating systems and applications.

You will also train users through classes and one-on-one sessions, coordinate with IT on projects, and escalate complex issues to higher-level support as needed, while helping ensure data backup and recovery procedures are in place.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• Two (2) or more years of related experience.
• Experience in supporting multiple end users and groups.
• Ability to train users and provide clear instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance and problem resolution to computer users.
• Analyze user needs and recommend hardware/software options.
• Install, configure and maintain OS and standard applications.
• Conduct training sessions and coordinate with IT teams on projects.
• Escalate to second-tier support when required.
• Support backup and recovery procedures.
