Job summary

United Performance Metals, Inc. is seeking an IT Support Specialist to act as the first contact for IT assistance and to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues. You will support Windows and macOS devices, manage Microsoft 365, and handle onboarding/offboarding and security tasks.

The role includes device setup, patching, asset tracking, and involvement in IT projects and rollouts, with emphasis on customer service and timely ticket resolution.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or technical certificate in Information Technology (preferred).
• Zero to two years of related experience in a help desk or IT support role; internship or coursework acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for IT support via phone, email, chat, portal, or in-person; log and triage incidents in the ITSM system.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and peripheral issues for Windows and macOS devices using remote and on-site support.
• Support Microsoft 365 and cloud apps (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive) and related tools.
• Perform user account administration including onboarding/offboarding, MFA enrollment, password resets, and access changes.
• Set up, configure, deploy, and retire devices using standard images; maintain asset inventory.
• Install updates and patches; report compatibility or performance issues.
• Follow security policies; recognize/report phishing and other incidents; protect sensitive data.
• Escalate complex issues with clear docs; keep users updated and meet SLAs.
• Document troubleshooting steps and changes; participate in IT projects and improvements.
