Job summary

Peraton seeks an experienced IT Technical Support Technician to join our Irvine team supporting the City of Irvine & Police Department. This on-site role involves providing expert technical assistance, configuration guidance, and hands-on hardware deployment for enterprise IT infrastructure.

You will troubleshoot, train users, and collaborate with developers to minimize recurring issues, while handling assets and working at customer sites with frequent travel. Local candidates preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with at least 3 years of related IT experience.
• U.S. citizenship or Green Card required; able to pass City of Irvine Live Scan and polygraph.
• Excellent customer service and ability to communicate with end users.
• Experience providing technical support and performing technical analysis.
• Basic to intermediate networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP).
• Hands-on experience installing, configuring and supporting software and hardware.
• Proficiency with enterprise software/hardware technologies.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in fast-paced environments.
• Experience supporting Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
• Experience supporting Microsoft technologies: AD, Azure AD, Intune, Microsoft 365.
• Familiarity with ITSM tools like ServiceNow, Jira, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Provides expert and second-tier technical support and analysis to field engineers and technicians.
• Provides installation, adaptation, configuration, or enhancement guidance for designated systems and services.
• Tests, trains, and fields support customers regarding technical aspects of designated systems and services; resolves problems and modifies products to customer requirements.
• Maintains trouble logs, instructs users in the use of computers and advises on software and hardware purchases.
• Provides training to customers.
• Travel is frequent and work is generally performed at the customer site.
• Partners with developers and engineers to reduce recurring incidents.
• Answers questions about installation, operation, configuration, customization and usage of designated systems and services.
