Job summary

VELCO Vermont Electric Power Company, Inc. is seeking an IT Support Technician I to provide exceptional IT operations support, guide users through configuration and troubleshooting, and maintain efficient systems across the organization.

The entry-level role requires 1 year of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and training. Responsibilities include AD account management, imaging, software installation, onboarding, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, preferred.
• Equivalent combination of work experience, education, training, and certifications considered; CompTIA A+ or other IT certifications highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Account Management: Create and manage user accounts in Active Directory with appropriate permissions and access controls.
• Laptop Imaging: Image and deploy laptops with consistent software configurations.
• Application Installation: Install and configure software including Mathcad, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.
• User Support: Troubleshoot and resolve user issues to minimize downtime.
• Onboarding: Assist in onboarding new employees with IT resources and access.
• Process Improvement: Collaborate to streamline processes and introduce new procedures.
• Printer Management: Maintain printer inventory and submit copy counts to vendors.
• Documentation: Create and maintain knowledge base articles and self-service guides.
• Asset Management: Wipe and prepare laptops for donation or disposal, ensuring data sanitization.
• Research and Analysis: Assist users with new requests and provide recommendations.
• Confidentiality: Maintain discretion and handle sensitive situations appropriately.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
