The North Carolina Department of Public Safety, Adult Correction, invites applications for a User Support Technician I (S) to provide frontline IT support at Anson Correctional Institution and Brown Creek Correctional Institution.

You will install, configure, and maintain computers and peripherals, troubleshoot network, voice, data, and video systems, and assist staff with training. The role requires strong communication and a willingness to travel within the state.

• Documented knowledge of providing hardware and software technical support.

Responsabilités

• Designing and reviewing internal and external infrastructure requirements, supporting voice, data, video, structured cabling, and other communication technologies.
• Serving in a security-focused role, ensuring agency systems and assets are protected from unauthorized access, misuse, or destruction.
• Performing the daily operations, installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of communication networks and related hardware and software.
• Planning, coordinating, maintaining, and operating computer communication networks; installing and configuring computers, laptops, and peripheral devices; loading and updating software; and providing technical consultation, user support, and training.
• Ordering all equipment relating to IT hardware such as printers, scanners, ink/toners, etc.
• Requiring a working knowledge of a broad range of technologies to effectively support users' technical needs.
• Interacting with a diverse group of users and must demonstrate strong communication and customer service skills while utilizing a variety of technical resources to resolve issues. Complex technical problems are escalated to higher-level Technology Support Analysts or Technology Support Specialists as appropriate.
• Possessing strong organizational skills and be able to maintain an up-to-date inventory of all equipment received and issued.
• Performing these duties in support of any division or component of the Department of Adult Correction (DAC) and may require travel to various offices and facilities throughout the state.
