Job summary

University of West Alabama's Information Technology department is seeking a first-level technical support specialist to assist users with hardware and software issues on campus systems. You will set up and install new workstations, diagnose problems, perform repairs, maintain classroom equipment, and support audio/visual and peripheral devices.

Strong customer service, clear communication, and the ability to prioritize tasks are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a technical support or customer service role.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and hardware/software troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level hardware and software support for client systems, including setup and installation of new systems.
  • Diagnose and repair hardware/software issues and provide configuration recommendations.
  • Maintain classroom equipment and support AV and other university IT equipment.
  • Provide professional user support; assist users with day-to-day computer-related problems and document all work clearly.
