Job summary

The University of Alabama is seeking a Desktop Support Technician II to provide basic help desk and field support for faculty and staff computer users in the Capstone College of Nursing. You will set up PCs and peripherals, install operating systems and software, and resolve user problems.

Responsibilities include monitoring ticket queues, escalating complex issues to senior technicians, and ensuring timely resolution within a 8:00am–5:00pm workday.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED plus two years of IT technical support experience, or an associate degree or higher with some IT support experience.
  • Hold a valid U.S. driver's license, be at least 19 at hire, and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.
  • Work Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Support focuses on end users in the Capstone College of Nursing, with issues beyond the basic service level escalated to senior technicians.

  • Start at an hourly minimum of $21.25, with a $26.59 midpoint for the pay grade.
