Job summary

Island Technology is seeking a hands-on IT Support Specialist to keep our employees productive, handling hardware, software, and access needs across macOS and Windows. You will be the primary contact, diagnosing issues via remote sessions and in-person when needed.

The role requires 4–6+ years in IT support, proficiency with Okta and Active Directory, and strong communication. We value ownership, calm under pressure, and a proactive approach to improving tools and processes.

Qualifications

• 4-6+ years of experience in an IT support / helpdesk role.
• Working knowledge of identity and device management tools, e.g. Okta, Active Directory, or similar.
• Certification in Okta.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and managing conference room logistics.
• Comfort supporting macOS and Windows environments and device management solutions.
• Experience working in a startup organization or an IDF unit.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware and software.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP) and remote connectivity (VPN).
• Okta Certification required.
• Experience supporting peripherals like printers and meeting room systems.
• Scripting or automation skills.

Responsibilities

• Be the primary point of contact for employees needing IT assistance across hardware, software, and access issues
• Diagnose and resolve technical problems through remote sessions and direct interaction, aiming for quick and effective solutions
• Take full ownership of support requests, from initial troubleshooting through resolution or escalation when needed
• Set up and onboard new employees with the tools they need, including device provisioning and basic guidance
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve processes, tools, and the overall user experience
• Help maintain office IT infrastructure, such as meeting rooms and shared equipment
