Job summary

Cumberland Valley School District is seeking a 12-month, full-time Technology Support Specialist II to maintain and support computers, peripherals, and networks at building and district level. A college/technical degree or three years of network experience is required; end-user support is preferred.

Responsibilities include OS installation and upgrades, hardware setup, network gear management, sound/AV systems, and phone/voicemail configuration across district facilities.

Qualifications

• Degree from college/technical school or 3 years' network specialist experience.
• Experience supporting end users preferred.
• Knowledge of client-server and wireless networks.
• Familiar with Windows, macOS and Google mobile/desktop OS.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and upgrade operating systems and software, using standard business and administrative packages.
• Install, assemble, configure and inventory computers, monitors, network infrastructure such as switches, access points and servers and peripherals such as printers, scanners and related hardware.
• Pull cables and rewires or direct the rewiring of cables as required for new installations and office reconfiguration.
• Troubleshoot problems with computer systems, including troubleshooting hardware and software, e-mail, network and peripheral equipment problems; make repairs and corrections where required.
• Act as a technical resource in assisting users to resolve problems with equipment and software.
• Operate, troubleshoot and install sound system and audio-visual equipment.
• Maintain and configure district phone and voicemail systems.
• Organize the inventory, storage, handling and assignment of computer hardware, software and peripherals related to assigned buildings.
