Job summary

Amazon is seeking an IT Support Engineer II to support, build, implement, and improve technology solutions across Amazon Operations sites in a defined region. You will manage large projects with minimal guidance that affect multiple locations and resolve crises to restore service quickly.

The role emphasizes learning AWS technologies and distributed systems, collaborating with teams, and contributing to continuous improvement while traveling locally to support customers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of IT client, server, and network service delivery experience.
• 3+ years of IT systems or relevant commercial production environment experience.
• 4+ years of networking experience (DNS, DHCP, SSL, OSI model, TCP/IP).
• 4+ years of Microsoft administration, Linux administration, or Cisco IOS (CLI) experience.
• 4+ years of troubleshooting in a multi-user high availability environment.
• 4+ years of PC repair, troubleshooting, deployment and liquidation experience.
• High school or equivalent diploma.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting difficult IT problems without SOPs and planning/ coordinating CM templates.
• Collaborating with internal teams or vendors to execute projects.
• Leading continuous improvement efforts.
• Auditing the quality of work performed and providing constructive feedback.
• Automating manual tasks and creating small tools to improve team operations.
• Serving as the first point of escalation.
• Participating in hiring, training and development of others.
• Supporting customers from multiple buildings in the area, as well as remote customers.
• Traveling within local or regional area to support customers.
