In this role, the Information Technology (IT) Specialist is responsible for analyzing, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining, and repairing network infrastructure and application components. The IT Specialist performs evaluation, maintenance, installation, and training tasks to ensure optimal network performance and user satisfaction. They also provide guidance and recommendations regarding network configurations and installations.
Qualifications
- One year of college-level coursework and MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) or equivalent
- One year of experience providing end-user phone support for PC desktops and applications OR installing, upgrading, troubleshooting, and repairing personal computers in a network environment
- Sufficient mental and physical health to meet job demands
- Valid Texas Driver's License, appropriate driving record, and auto liability insurance meeting Texas state requirements
- Ability to adhere to all client policies and procedures, including confidentiality
Essential Functions
- Develop and implement methods to monitor customer service and feedback, including call monitoring, follow-up calls, and survey reports
- Track turnaround times, ensure accurate technical assistance, and properly close or escalate support calls
- Plan, implement, and monitor workflow processes for support call escalation
- Assist in daily help desk operations, resolving service requests related to PCs, laptops, printers, devices, servers, and peripherals
- Provide client support and technical resolution via email, phone, and electronic communication
- Configure software to connect to intranet servers
- Train clients on system and application usage
- Understand OS and application operations related to company services
- Identify and advise on operational issues in client systems
- Create new user accounts using company tools
- Perform other duties as assigned
