UMBC’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Orientation seeks an IT Specialist to support admissions systems, data integrity, and process execution on a regular full-time basis.
You will perform bulk data uploads, data corrections, report development, validation, and supervise student workers to ensure governance, security, and continuity of operations.

Working closely with the Manager of Systems and Technology and the Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions and Orientation, the IT Specialist serves as a key operational and technical contributor supportingadmissions systems, data integrity, and process execution.
UMBC offers competitive compensation. This role starts at $53,000 and has over 4 weeks of vacation for regular full time roles. Tuition remission is also available.
A hybrid telework schedule may be available.
Working closely with the Manager of Systems and Technology and the Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions and Orientation, the IT Specialist serves as a key operational and technical contributor supporting admissions systems, data integrity, and process execution. The IT Specialist performs bulk data uploads, data
corrections, duplicate resolution, account provisioning, report development, and data validation to ensure accuracy and compliance. The role participates in pre-production testing, peer review of changes, and error monitoring and
escalation, while maintaining process documentation and supporting staff training. The IT Specialist also supervises a team of student workers (IT Grit Guides), providing task assignment, oversight, training, and quality review to ensure
adherence to established procedures, data governance standards, security requirements, and operational continuity.
Salary: $53,000-59,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations.
The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
