UMBC is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain cloud-based data integration solutions that enable secure and timely data exchange across institutional systems and external partners.
The role focuses on automated data pipelines, data security, and governance, within a hybrid telework environment. A one-year contractual, full-time position with competitive compensation is offered.
The Division of Information Technology (DoIT) has approximately 85 full-time staff members and 100 undergraduate or graduate students who work each day to support the mission of UMBC through the delivery of IT services to the campus. DoIT provides robust, secure IT environments that enable solutions for advancing the UMBC community. The Data Engineer develops, maintains, and supports cloud-based data integration solutions that enable reliable, secure, and timely data exchange across institutional systems and external partners. This position designs and supports automated data pipelines, monitors data integration processes, troubleshoots technical issues, and contributes to the ongoing improvement of the organization’s data platform. The Data Engineer collaborates with technical teams and stakeholders to understand business and data requirements and deliver effective, scalable data solutions.
UMBC offers competitive compensation. This role starts at $90,000and has over 4 weeks of vacation for regular full time roles. Tuition remission is also available.
A hybrid telework schedule may be available.

Salary: $90,000 - $101,000depending on qualifications and experience.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations.
The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
