Job summary

The City of Oxnard’s Information Technology Department is seeking an IT Solutions Specialist to provide technical support to City staff, troubleshoot complex issues, and develop technology solutions to meet departmental needs. The role also coordinates small-scale initiatives, documents new procedures, and establishes repeatable processes to improve service delivery and support consistency.

Candidates must be current IT department employees with the City of Oxnard and have an Associate’s Degree

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration or related field
• Two years of related experience
• Must possess a Valid California Driver's License with satisfactory driving record

Responsibilities

• Receives, prioritizes and responds to technical support calls and requests; troubleshoots issues and resolves them.
• Translates ambiguous business needs into actionable IT workflows via intake interviews.
• Leads small-scale initiatives and micro-rollouts from discovery to deployment.
• Documents SOPs and Knowledge Base articles for new solutions and transitions runbooks to support tiers.
