Job summary

The City of Oxnard’s Information Technology Department is seeking an IT Solutions Specialist to provide technical support to City staff, troubleshoot complex issues, and develop technology solutions to meet departmental needs. This role coordinates small-scale initiatives, documents new procedures, and establishes repeatable processes to improve service delivery.

The position emphasizes translating vague business requirements into IT workflows, with a potential need to work additional hours

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration or related field.
• Two years of related experience.
• Valid California Class C Driver’s License.
• Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Receives, prioritizes and responds to technical support requests from City staff.
• Translates ambiguous business needs into actionable IT workflows.
• Develops SOPs and Knowledge Base articles for new solutions.
• Leads small-scale, non-project departmental initiatives and micro-rollouts.
