Job summary
The City of Malibu is seeking an IT Support Specialist to provide technical help desk assistance to City staff, troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, and maintain computer systems and related services. Qualifications
- Two years of technical support, help desk assistance, or end user support.
- Experience with help desk ticketing systems and remote support tools.
- Knowledge of computer hardware, software, and network concepts.
- Wamiliarity with telecommunication and media production technologies.
Responsibilities
- Responds promptly to help desk requests via phone, email, or tickets.
- Resolves hardware, software, and network issues to minimize downtime.
- Resets passwords and manages user access following security protocols.
- Installs, configures, and upgrades desktops, servers and peripherals.
- Maintains documentation of support actions and system configurations.
- Sets up workstations and related equipment; troubleshoots voice and network cabling.
- Provides remote support to off-site staff; addresses connectivity issues.
- Keeps IT assets inventory and generates reports on system status.
