Job summary

The State of South Carolina, Department of Social Services, seeks an IT Services Specialist III for technical expertise, training, and infrastructure support across state and county offices. The role includes LAN/WAN, hardware/software, data backups, and 24/7 after-hours support.

Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma with related experience; an Associate Degree or higher may substitute for experience. A valid driver's license and field work availability are required.

Qualifications

High School Diploma and experience in office automation, data communications system design, installation, operation, repair, sales or marketing, or processing of information in a data processing environment or related systems.
An Associate Degree or higher in a related field may substitute for required work experience.

Responsibilities

Provides technical expertise, training, infrastructure support, and consulting to all DSS users in state office and county offices statewide.
Acts as Site Engineer for DSS automated applications and supports LAN/WAN, equipment installation, and inventory tracking.
Serves as the primary contact for user problems and documents or directs resolutions.
Provides after-hours weekend support for 24/7 program staff.
Participates in evaluating equipment and software and recommends technical solutions to meet user needs.
