Job summary

South Carolina DMV is seeking a Network Technician II to join the IT Shared Services Unit at SCDMV Headquarters in Blythewood, SC. The role focuses on configuring, deploying, and maintaining the agency's switching and routing infrastructure, with emphasis on network security and documentation.

The position supports WLAN/VPN configurations, coordinates with service providers, and assists with telephony-related tasks while ensuring high-quality IT service across departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma; associate or bachelor's degree may substitute for experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of Windows networking, domain administration, security and LAN/WAN devices.

Responsibilities

• Configure, deploy, install, monitor, troubleshoot and maintain switching and routing devices.
• Review logs to ensure best practices and standards across the data network.
• Monitor network status and coordinate with third parties for service outages.
• Support end-user network issues and perform moves/adds/changes with supervision.
• Assist with WLAN, VPN, and remote connectivity configurations and trouble resolution.
• Document network architecture, device configurations, and incident resolutions.
• Assist in agency telephony moves/adds/changes and related tasks.
