Job summary

Gas South is seeking an IT ServiceDesk Intern to support end-user IT needs and improve response times across calls, email, and chat. You’ll diagnose basic hardware/software issues and document resolutions, while learning how IT supports the business.

This internship targets rising juniors or seniors pursuing a Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field, with strong Microsoft OS/Office proficiency and a keen willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• Rising Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft OS and Office Suite applications.
• Basic hardware troubleshooting.
• Excellent working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to learn quickly and work with multiple systems.

Responsibilities

• Respond to technical assistance requests in person, by phone, and electronically.
• Diagnose and resolve basic hardware and software issues.
• Research questions using available resources.
• Advise users on appropriate action.
• Follow standard helpdesk procedures and log interactions.
• Escalate complex issues to the appropriate resource.
• Identify urgent situations and route appropriately.
• Track problems and document resolutions.
• Set up end-user hardware like PCs, monitors, printers, keyboards, mice, and phones.
