Job summary

Gas South, LLC. IT & PMO department seeks an IT ServiceDesk Intern to support end-user requests and improve Helpdesk response times. The role focuses on customer service, learning technical resolutions, and documenting solutions.

The intern will respond to inquiries by phone, email, or chat, diagnose basic software/hardware issues, set up end-user devices, and escalate complex problems as needed. May start May 15, 2023; ends August 2023.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in CS or related field.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Basic hardware troubleshooting and Windows OS knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Respond to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, and electronically.
• Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues.
• Research questions using available information resources.
• Advise users on appropriate action.
• Follow standard helpdesk procedures.
• Log all helpdesk interactions.
• Escalate complex issues to the appropriate resource.
• Identify and upscale situations requiring urgent attention.
• Track and route problems and requests and document resolutions.
• Setup end-user hardware such as PCs, monitors, printers, keyboards, mice, and phones.

The IT ServiceDesk Intern position supports the Gas South IT & PMO department with resolutions to entry-level end-user calls and improves overall response time to Helpdesk tickets.

A successful candidate for this role is proactive, ready to learn and always looking to find the best possible solutions for the business and our employees. You continuously work towards enhancing our customer experience and ability to manage direct communication with customers over the phone as well as through email and chat. You are ready to work towards the start of your IT career, and you value diversity and build / maintain relationships based on honesty and trust.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

• Rising Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor' Degree in Computer Science, or another related field.
• Computer proficiency with knowledge of Microsoft OS and Office Suite applications.
• Basic hardware troubleshooting.
• Demonstrated excellent working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to quickly learn and work with multiple computer systems.

Pay range is commensurate with education, experience, specialized skills or certifications, etc.

Gas South Base Pay Range

$18 - $22 USD
