Job summary

Propane Education and Research Council seeks a Manager of IT Operations and System Administration to lead day-to-day IT performance, security, and reliability. You will oversee outsourced support, hardware procurement, onboarding/offboarding, and training resources, ensuring compliance with legal and company guidelines.

You will coordinate security posture, data backup/disaster recovery, and IT projects while aligning with the website and DevOps teams for seamless integrations to propane.com.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in IT operations, help desk or systems administration.
• Experience managing outsourced technology vendors or service providers.
• Strong knowledge of networks, systems, and cloud computing (AWS, Azure).
• Experience with IT security best practices, monitoring, and backups.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day IT operations, security, and reliability of the IT environment.
• Manage outsourced IT partner and service levels to ensure timely support.
• Lead hardware procurement, onboarding/offboarding, and training resources.
• Coordinate IT projects from scope to completion, including budgets and timelines.
• Advise on IT policy, security posture, and data handling per laws and company guidelines.
• Support integrations between internal systems and propane.com with DevOps as needed.
• Create and maintain documentation for IT systems, hardware standards, and applications.
• Collaborate with security consultants and vendors to design appropriate user access.
