Job summary

SoftWriters is seeking an IT Operations Specialist to join our growing team in Pittsburgh. This hybrid role focuses on end-user support, device and account management, SaaS governance, and contributing to IT projects that improve reliability and security across the organization.

You will troubleshoot Windows, manage Microsoft 365 services, handle AD/Entra ID user accounts, and collaborate with vendors on licensing and deployments, while delivering excellent service to staff.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of IT support, operations, or systems support experience.
• Experience supporting Microsoft 365 applications and services.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in Windows environments.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN connectivity.
• Experience with ticketing systems and support workflows.
• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
• Preferred: IT procurement, vendor management, or SaaS app experience.
• Preferred: Active Directory / Entra ID administration.
• Preferred: IT certifications (Microsoft, CompTIA).

Responsibilities

The Opportunity

We're seeking an IT Operations Specialist to join our growing team and help shape the future of healthcare technology.

Location: Hybrid – Pittsburgh, PA (Core office days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
Reports To: IT Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt

What You'll Do

End User Support

• Serve as a primary point of contact for employee technology support requests.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, printing, and connectivity issues.
• Provide support for Microsoft 365 applications.

User Account & Device Administration

• Provision and deprovision employee accounts and technology access.

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 3+ years of IT support, IT operations, or systems support experience
• Experience supporting Microsoft 365 applications and services
• Strong troubleshooting skills within Windows environments
• Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN connectivity
• Experience working with ticketing systems and support workflows
• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently

Preferred:

• Experience managing SaaS applications, software licensing, vendor relationships, or IT procurement processes
• Experience managing Active Directory and/or Microsoft Entra ID
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Relevant Microsoft or CompTIA certifications

• Become a trusted resource for employee technical support.
• Independently manage onboarding and offboarding activities.
• Maintain accurate technology asset and licensing records.
• Improve IT processes and documentation.
