Job summary

GigaParts, Inc. is seeking an IT Operations Specialist to manage documentation, plans, and implementation of technology projects.

The role covers network configuration, system administration, and collaboration with vendors while ensuring reliable IT services and on-call coverage. The candidate will handle incident resolution, patch management, and monitoring, supporting front-line staff and driving improvements across the technology stack.

Qualifications

• Eight years of IT experience required.
• Ability to communicate effectively by phone or in person.
• Strong documentation and troubleshooting skills.
• Proven customer service background and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain documentation for technology assets and configurations.
• Create project plans and implement solutions.
• Evaluate and present technical specifications for purchasing technology products.
• Participate in after-hours upgrades and on-call availability.
• IT system administration including hardware and software installations, patching, incident resolution, and log analysis.
• Configure, test, and maintain networking equipment including switches, routers, firewalls, and VPN.
• Identify and resolve network problems using available tools.
• Provide infrastructure services such as storage, OS, security, virtualization, backups, monitoring, and application install/configuration.
• Provide technical support to front-line technicians.
• Assist with monthly reports and client recommendations.
• Interface with vendors as liaison between client and vendor.
• Stay current with technology offerings and updates.
