Job summary

Hensel Phelps in Irvine, CA is seeking an IT Operations Engineer I to support the steady operation of the regional network and end-user devices. You will help plan, install, configure, and maintain network hardware, software, and communication links, while documenting issues and solutions.

You will collaborate with IT staff to design topologies, implement policies for end-user devices, respond to outages, and contribute to network projects and procurement.

Qualifications

• College degree in computer science or related IT field.
• 2+ years of IT experience or equivalent.
• Certifications in ITIL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize network topologies and configurations.
• Implement policies for end-user devices (desktop, laptop, mobile).
• Respond to outages per business continuity plans.
• Document procedures, manuals, and checklists for installations.
• Support networking projects and new technology initiatives.
• Evaluate networking hardware and software for purchase.
• Maintain servers, security solutions, and network equipment.
• Monitor network performance and generate reports.
• Assist Tier 1 Service Desk in escalations.
