Job summary

Baseten is hiring an IT Operations Engineer to be the face of IT for the company, handling day-to-day support, office IT, and new-hire onboarding. The role is on-site in San Francisco and collaborates with IT Engineers to improve controls and automation.

You will support a macOS-first fleet, manage devices via MDM, and ensure smooth operations for in-office and remote staff. The team values initiative and reliable services.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in IT support or IT operations
• Experience managing macOS fleet end-to-end (MDM enrolment, OS updates, remote lock/wipe)
• Hands-on administration of Google Workspace, Slack and Zoom
• Experience with conference room, AV, and office network setup and troubleshooting
• Willingness to support events in the evening
• Experience with automation or scripting to streamline repetitive tasks
• Excellent communication and care for the support experience
• Ability to be in San Francisco office 5 days a week

Responsibilities

• Be the go-to IT contact for hardware, software, access issues across a macOS-first fleet
• Onboard new hires with laptops + accounts for in-office or remote work
• Manage onboarding, role changes, and offboarding via automated workflows
• Maintain office IT operations: conference rooms, AV, network, printers
• Support office buildouts and future IT scalability
• Manage IT assets and vendor relationships, including stock/shipping for remote staff
• Build a self-serve knowledge base to reduce ticket volume
• Automate recurring tasks within our ITSM (Serval) and integrate with IT Engineering as needed
• Handle day-to-day administration of core SaaS tools with delegated access
