Job summary

TSR is seeking an IT Lab Computing Support Specialist to own GMP laboratory computing systems and ensure reliable operation of applications, workstations, instruments, and interfaces. Onsite in Bothell, WA, the role emphasizes data integrity and quality-driven execution.

You will drive troubleshooting, change control, and documentation, while mentoring engineers and coordinating with Quality, Lab Ops, Engineering, Cybersecurity, and vendors in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level ownership and support for GMP laboratory computing systems.
• Maintain reliable operation of applications, systems, workstations, instruments, interfaces, and infrastructure.
• Lead troubleshooting, incident response, and cross-team coordination.
• Execute lifecycle activities: implementation, configuration, maintenance, upgrades, and decommissioning with complete documentation.
• Work per GMP, SOPs, work instructions, and quality processes using a risk-based approach.
• Assess, plan, and verify changes through approved change control with rollback strategies.
• Develop and execute risk-appropriate testing for CSV/CSA with evidence.
• Apply data-integrity controls for electronic records, access, audit trails, configurations, interfaces, and data flows.
• Lead incident, deviation, and investigation support with root-cause analysis and CAPA verification.
• Create and maintain accurate technical documentation and configuration records.
• Mentor engineers, establish consistent engineering practices, and promote accountability and continuous improvement.

Job Description

• Maintain reliable operation of applications, computerized systems, workstations, instruments, interfaces, and infrastructure.
• Lead troubleshooting, incident response, and coordination across technical and business teams.
• Execute lifecycle activities including implementation, configuration, maintenance, upgrades, and decommissioning with complete documentation.
• Perform work in accordance with GMP, SOPs, work instructions, and quality processes using a risk-based approach.
• Assess, plan, and verify changes through approved change control with acceptance criteria and rollback strategies.
• Develop and execute risk-appropriate testing, verification, and support for CSV/CSA activities with complete evidence.
• Apply data-integrity controls for electronic records, access, audit trails, configurations, interfaces, and data flows.
• Lead incident, deviation, and investigation support with root-cause analysis and CAPA verification.
• Create and maintain accurate technical documentation and configuration records following Good Documentation Practices.
• Mentor engineers, establish consistent engineering practices, and promote accountability and continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Life Sciences, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Significant experience supporting laboratory computing and regulated computerized systems in GMP environments.
• Strong knowledge of GMP principles, Good Documentation Practices, and controlled technical execution.
• Proven troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving abilities across applications, instruments, and infrastructure.
• Experience with change management, testing, verification, and full system lifecycle support.
• Experience collaborating with Quality, Laboratory Operations, Engineering, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, and vendors.
• Clear technical writing and communication skills with sound technical judgment and independence.

Preferred Skills:

• Background in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or other highly regulated laboratories.
• Experience with CSV or CSA, laboratory informatics, and instrument-to-system interfaces.
• Knowledge of Windows-based laboratory environments, virtualization, networking, databases, and enterprise interfaces.
• Experience with data-integrity assessments, change control, deviations, CAPA, and audits or inspections.
• Project leadership and mentoring experience.
