Job description

The Senior Lab Systems Analyst serves as the primary technical owner for all laboratory technology systems, acting as the central point of contact for troubleshooting, vendor coordination, and change control. The analyst ensures that laboratory applications, instruments, and integrations operate reliably, securely, and in compliance with GxP requirements while supporting the scientists who depend on them every day.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware and software issues; escalate and coordinate with vendors when deeper expertise is required.
  • Partner with lab personnel to understand workflows, diagnose problems, and translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Coordinate system updates, upgrades, patches, and new implementations in alignment with written procedures and quality requirements.
  • Participate in all phases of system lifecycles - requirements gathering, configuration, validation, test execution, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Author and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and technical documentation related to lab systems and integrations.
  • Support regulatory audits and inspections by providing documentation, system expertise, and evidence of compliance.
  • Perform PC and server configurations, instrument connectivity, and routine preventative maintenance activities.
  • Ensure all changes follow documented change control processes.
  • Analyze the impact of new technology on laboratory and business processes and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborate closely with Quality, IT, and laboratory teams to ensure systems remain reliable and inspection ready.
  • Analyze the business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment.
  • Act as a secondary support resource for Service Desk operations, providing coverage for end-user support, system imaging and deployment, account provisioning, and Microsoft 365 license management as needed
  • Provide backup execution for onboarding, offboarding, and device lifecycle tasks to ensure continuity of service during peak demand, absences, or escalations
  • Step in to support incident and request resolution when Service Desk capacity is constrained, maintaining service levels and consistent end-user experience
  • Participate in IT Service Desk on-call rotation
  • Works on and may lead other projects as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 8+ years of experience in life sciences, healthcare, or other regulated industry.
  • Strong IT fundamentals with hands-on experience supporting both hardware and software in laboratory environments.
  • Practical knowledge of lab system configuration, instrument integration, and client/server architecture.
  • Demonstrated understanding of formal change control and documentation requirements in regulated settings.
  • Experience with laboratory applications such as Waters Empower, Agilent platforms, Dotmatics, or comparable systems.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems and quality management software (FreshDesk, Monday, MasterControl, Veeva.
  • Proficiency with Windows environments, networking concepts, and standard MS Office tools.
  • Own problems from first report to final resolution and dig until the root cause is clear.
  • Communicate technical ideas plainly to scientists, vendors, and leadership alike.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment in escalating issues and proactively communicating status to stakeholders.
  • Adapt quickly when priorities change.
  • Think analytically, stay curious, and enjoy figuring out how complex systems work.
  • Balance multiple priorities while keeping careful records and documentation.
  • Work independently but collaborate easily with people of various backgrounds.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check for employment consideration.
  • Performance of tasks essential to the job function may require the employee to work directly with, handle, or otherwise come into contact with chemicals or pharmaceutical agents.
  • Ability to maneuver in confined spaces around laboratory equipment and accurately distinguish colors.
