Job summary

Russell Tobin is partnering with a leading Life Sciences / Laboratory Technology organization to identify a Lab Computing Analyst for an onsite opportunity in Seattle, WA. The role focuses on implementing and supporting laboratory IT environments and instrument-related computing assets.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of technical experience or an equivalent combination, strong troubleshooting, and experience with Windows-based systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 2+ years of technical experience OR an Associate's degree with 3+ years of technical experience OR a High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of technical experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience supporting Windows-based environments, desktop hardware, software, and peripherals.
• Strong customer service, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects within established timelines.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, networking, remote computing, and backup systems preferred.
• Experience supporting scientific instrumentation or working in a laboratory/life sciences environment preferred.
• Experience working in validated, GxP, ISO, or FDA-regulated environments preferred.
• Ability to work onsite in a laboratory environment and wear required PPE.

Responsibilities

• Implement, monitor, and provide technical support for laboratory IT environments, including systems integrated with scientific instrumentation.
• Support Windows-based platforms, operating systems, desktop hardware, peripherals, instrument-controlled software, and core desktop applications.
• Implement customer-specific benchtop computing designs and processes.
• Manage onboarding, retirement, relocation, and inventory of laboratory equipment and computing assets.
• Administer Windows security, including user/group permissions, file/folder permissions, Group Policy, and local security policies.
• Troubleshoot complex technology issues and implement system enhancements, upgrades, and solutions.
• Serve as a technical support contact for instrument vendors and troubleshoot instrument-related computers.
• Support new system validations, upgrades, and change management activities.
• Maintain accurate physical inventories of laboratory equipment, PCs, software, and related assets.
• Prepare and submit weekly engineering reports and maintain required documentation.
• Act as a liaison for hardware- and software-related inquiries and participate in client team meetings.
• Ensure adherence to corporate policies, compliance requirements, and health and safety procedures.
