Job summary

Orange County Sanitation District is offering a Student Intern position in Information Technology. Under close supervision, you’ll provide technical assistance for network, hardware, and software issues and support IT projects.

You’ll work with staff to troubleshoot, train users, and document incidents while pursuing an IT-related degree. Schedule is 15–20 hours weekly, mainly weekdays, on-site. Compensation is paid per hour for undergraduate and graduate students.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Full-time college student of at least junior level in a bachelor’s or graduate degree program related to OC San activities.
• Valid California Class C Driver’s License.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint and Windows 10 operating systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time while delivering customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assist with user requests for service, troubleshoot issues and help develop solutions.
• Support PC hardware components, desktop operating systems, and applications.
• Record activities and solutions in the ticketing system.
• Work with vendors and research products for system upgrades.
• Assist with user training for hardware and software.
• Maintain records in inventory and client management systems.
• Create automated scripts for software installs and OS processes.
• Perform other duties/projects as assigned.
