Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health seeks an IT Intern in Houston, TX for a 12-week program from May 24 to August 13, 2027. You will gain hands-on experience supporting hardware, software, networks and cloud services while learning from a global engineering team.

The role requires pursuit of a Bachelor or graduate degree in IT or CS, a minimum 3.0 GPA, and interest in learning Azure, Power BI, Microsoft 365, and IT operations. On-site work with potential training and mentorship included.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled and working toward a Bachelor or Graduate degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Strong interest in technology and a desire to learn and grow.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Windows 10/11, and MS Office 365.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills using Excel and Power BI.
  • Strong written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software.
  • Provide technical support to end-users and troubleshoot issues.
  • Assist with the setup and maintenance of computer networks, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Assist with account and access administration directly and via the Azure cloud.
  • Participate in the development, testing and evaluation of new software applications and systems.
  • Help maintain inventory of IT equipment and software licenses.
  • Assist in the documentation of IT processes and procedures.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in information technology.

The IT Intern will be responsible for:

  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software systems

The Intern will also learn about the following:

  • Incident Management and end user support
  • Cloud administration via Microsoft Azure (Entra, Intune, Autopilot, etc.)
  • Network and security
  • Software development and integration
  • IT Project Management
  • IT operations and infrastructure
  • User training and documentation

Skills/Requirements

  • Currently enrolled and working toward completion of Bachelor or Graduate degree from an accredited university or college in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Strong interest in technology and a desire to learn and grow in the IT field
  • Basic knowledge of IT hardware, software, cloud, AI, and networking concepts
  • Familiarity Microsoft 365 – Windows 10/11 and full MS Office 365 suite
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills using tools such as Excel and PowerBi
  • Strong written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Professionalism and a strong work ethic

Additional Information

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis, now or in the future, without employer sponsorship for employment visa status.
  • No relocation assistance provided.
  • Internship is 12 weeks, May 24 - August 13, 2027
