Job summary

Nova Southwestern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking an entry-level IT Support Technician to deliver timely technical support to students, faculty and staff via phone, chat, email, remote and desk-side assistance.

You will resolve basic hardware and software issues, assist with equipment deployment, relocation, and disposal, and log tickets in the system. The role requires basic knowledge of Active Directory, networks, and AV systems, and a valid Florida driver's license.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of tools used for technical troubleshooting including software and hand-tools.
• Basic knowledge of computer and audiovisual systems, Active Directory, and networks.
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software and deployment of related technology.
• Knowledge of computer electronics and basic IT operations.

Responsibilities

• Installs and maintains hardware for faculty and staff to ensure resources function properly.
• Repairs and troubleshoots technology issues on-site and remotely to resolve problems.
• Provides first-line, basic support for hardware and software for desktops, laptops, peripherals, videoconferencing, LANs and WANs.
• Assists with relocation of computers and other equipment within facilities and off-campus as needed.
• Creates, logs, updates and resolves technology tickets in the ticketing system on time.
