Job summary

The Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) is hiring two student assistants to support first-level IT help desk services for up to 1400 end-users in an enterprise environment. This part-time, temporary, non-benefited student position operates under UEI with conditions on employment.

Flexible hours Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM, with up to 24 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours during breaks; residency in California is required for employment.

Qualifications

• Excellent computer software experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist to move, setup, Imaging of PC’s, monitors, Printers, iPhones and other IT equipment as needed.
• Assist with tagging of IT equipment and IT Asset Verification.
• Assist with Surveying of IT equipment and maintain professional appearance of IT spaces.
• Assist with maintaining current IT inventory counts of IT equipment.
• Receive mentoring by helpdesk and network support staff on HCD IT operations, remote support, policies and procedures.
• Shadow IT staff during service calls.
