Trident Consulting is seeking an IT Desktop Support Technician III for a 6-month onsite assignment in Aliso Viejo, CA. The role focuses on hands-on technical support, asset management, and onboarding/offboarding for both onsite and remote employees.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of desktop support experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and proficiency with Windows, macOS, Office 365, and AD/Entra ID environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop training materials and train users on hardware or software.
• Set up equipment for employees and install OS/software.
• Install and repair hardware, software, or peripherals per specs.
• Maintain records of data transactions, problems and actions.
• Read manuals, confer with users, run diagnostics to provide support.
• Refer complex hardware/software issues to vendors/technicians.
• Assist with onboarding of new employees.
• Recommend hardware and software for the organization.
• Deploy desktops and laptops with proper config.
• Provide updates on tickets, issues, and projects.
• Troubleshoot desktop OS and applications.

Description

The IT Desktop Support Technician III provides hands-on technical support, manages IT assets, and owns on boarding/off boarding for both onsite and remote employees.

This role requires a customer-focused mind-set, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring system stability, security, and scalability while supporting ongoing IT projects and operational improvements.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

• Develop training materials and procedures, or train users in the proper use of hardware or software
• Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software
• Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, or peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications
• Maintain records of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial actions taken, or installation activities
• Read technical manuals, confer with users, or conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems or to provide technical assistance and support
• Refer major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service
• Assist with on boarding of new employees
• Make recommendations for hardware and software for the organization
• Perform desktop and laptop system deployments including hardware and software configuration
• Provide regular updates on the status of tickets, open issues and projects
• Perform troubleshooting of supported desktop operation systems and applications.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent experience is required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred Minimum of 2-5 years of related experience Advanced experience with Windows, macOS and enterprise IT environments.
• Experience supporting Active Directory, Entra ID and Office 365 environments.
• Able to plan and prioritize workload with minimal supervision excellent customer service skills
