TEKsystems is seeking candidates for a Hybrid Desktop Support role in Petoskey, MI. This entry-to-mid level opportunity supports the IT department, diagnosing software and hardware issues across Windows and Mac, deploying Windows 10/11, and re-imaging as needed.

The position is contract-to-hire with day-one benefits and a strong focus on customer service. Responsibilities include incident recording, problem ownership, and collaboration with users to restore services quickly.

Qualifications

• Previous Helpdesk, Desktop Support, or PC Technician experience preferred.
• IT certifications are desirable for this role.
• First shift, Contract to Hire basis.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve software and hardware incidents on Windows and Mac.
• Swap laptops/desktops and deploy Windows 10/11.
• Re-image Windows 11 onto machines from Windows 10.
• Assist users with IT incidents and document requests in the service desk system.
• Own issues, perform problem analysis, and escalate when needed to restore service quickly.
• Install and configure new IT equipment and upgrade software/hardware as required.
• Resolve printer, copier, and scanner incidents.
• Maintain high level of customer service and professionalism.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

• Previous Helpdesk or Desktop Support or PC Technician experience is preferred.
• IT certifications are desirable for this role.
• This will be a first shift opportunity on a Contract to Hire basis.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• To diagnose and resolve software and hardware incidents, including operating systems (Windows and Mac) and across a range of software applications
• Swapping out laptops/desktops and deploying Windows 10/11
• Re-imaging windows 11 onto machines from windows 10
• To assist all our users with any logged IT related incident when called upon
• To take ownership of issues by carrying out problem analysis to implement temporary or permanent fixes with the aim of restoring service to the customer as soon as possible; escalating incidents to other support teams where necessary
• To accurately record, update and document requests using the IT service desk system
• To install and configure new IT equipment
• To resolve incidents and upgrade different types of software and hardware
• To resolve incidents with printers, copiers, and scanners
• To maintain a first-class level of customer service ensuring that all customers are treated efficiently and in an appropriate manner

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
