TEKsystems is seeking candidates for an onsite Desktop Support/Helpdesk role in Flint, MI. This contract-to-hire position offers first-shift hours and an opportunity to advance within a local enterprise IT department.

Ideal candidates have prior Helpdesk or Desktop Support experience and IT certifications are desirable. The role focuses on resolving software/hardware incidents, deploying Windows, and delivering excellent customer service in a fully onsite environment.

Qualifications

• Previous Helpdesk or Desktop Support or PC Technician experience preferred.
• IT certifications are desirable for this role.
• This will be a first shift opportunity on a Contract to Hire basis.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve software and hardware incidents, including Windows and Mac OS and a range of applications.
• Swap out laptops/desktops and deploy Windows 10/11.
• Re-imaging Windows 11 onto machines from Windows 10.
• Assist all users with IT incidents and logged requests.
• Take ownership of issues and perform analysis to restore service; escalate when needed.
• Document requests using the IT service desk system.
• Install and configure new IT equipment.
• Resolve incidents and upgrade software/hardware.
• Resolve printer/copier/scanner issues.
• Maintain a first-class level of customer service.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• To diagnose and resolve software and hardware incidents, including operating systems (Windows and Mac) and across a range of software applications
• Swapping out laptops/desktops and deploying Windows 10/11
• Re-imaging windows 11 onto machines from windows 10
• To assist all our users with any logged IT related incident when called upon
• To take ownership of issues by carrying out problem analysis to implement temporary or permanent fixes with the aim of restoring service to the customer as soon as possible; escalating incidents to other support teams where necessary
• To accurately record, update and document requests using the IT service desk system
• To install and configure new IT equipment
• To resolve incidents and upgrade different types of software and hardware
• To resolve incidents with printers, copiers, and scanners
• To maintain a first-class level of customer service ensuring that all customers are treated efficiently and in an appropriate manner

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
