Job summary

The City of Baltimore is seeking an IT Associate to provide hardware and software support across the department. The role focuses on computer operations, repair, wire and cable installation, and helping users with hardware and software challenges.

You will travel for onsite activities, document clearly, and contribute to data management efforts. Government experience is preferred, with an emphasis on security and reliability.

Qualifications

• An Associate degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
• Two years of computer and customer support, applications analysis, and/or data security/testing experience.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Installs hardware and peripherals on users' premises.
• Loads software packages including operating systems and office apps.
• Produces reports by collecting and summarizing information.
• Provides telephone, in-person and online end-user support.
• Connects users to networks and provides initial training.
• Maintains system capability by testing components and updates.
