Texas Department of Transportation is offering an IT Asset Management Intern position in the Information Technology Division. The role focuses on technology inventory, asset data, reporting, and validation of records to support lifecycle management.

The intern will develop practical data analysis, Excel, and IT operations skills while working on real-world asset management processes at our Austin site. This paid internship is on-site with a 20-hour weekly schedule during school and full-time in

Qualifications

• Must be a student in high school or other educational institution or accepted into a college, university or educational institution.
• Must be at least 16 years of age and enrolled in an educational program.
• Preferred: proficient with Excel, databases, and business applications.
• Experience with data analysis and basic research is desirable.
• Ability to organize information clearly and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist with inventory and asset data management.
• Prepare spreadsheets and reports by asset custodian, unit, location, or type.
• Validate asset records and investigate discrepancies.
• Use spreadsheets and reporting tools to filter, sort, and summarize data.
• Support development of inventory status reports and tracking tasks.
