Job summary

The American College of Surgeons seeks a seasoned IT leader to manage AJCC technology, including CCMS content, API portals, and product delivery. You will direct the Software Programmer team, coordinate API releases, and assure accurate staging content while partnering with vendors and stakeholders.

This hybrid Chicago-based role reports to the Senior Manager, AJCC, and supports ongoing interoperability initiatives across the oncology landscape.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, technical content engineering, or similar field required; master's preferred.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in information technology, software development, or related field.
• Experience with XML editing, CCMS, RESTful APIs, software development and validation, C#, and C++.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
• Preferred: database management, project and personnel management; excellent communication; willingness to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Oversee AJCC Software Programmer team and manage Cancer Surveillance product development and AJCC API portal.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of AJCC staging content within CCMS; manage XML-structured content for human and machine use.
• Oversee Cancer Staging API and AJCC Staging Online portals, including licensing, support, releases, and vendor management.
• Lead ongoing development and reliable delivery of AJCC electronic products; supervise staff and evaluate performance.
