Job summary

Vancouver Public Schools in Washington state seeks a Special Program Paraeducator 1:1 for the Integrated Social Emotional Program (ISEP). This one-on-one role supports a student with specialized needs during the school day, under the guidance of certificated staff.

The position is 6.5 hours daily for 9 months per year. The successful candidate will collaborate with teachers, implement IEP goals, maintain documentation, and participate in training related to student safety and behavior support.

Qualifications

• Documentation of high school diploma or GED plus one of the approved degrees or ParaPro score.
• One year of related experience with children in education preferred.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with children with disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers and support staff in implementing classroom goals and IEP objectives.
• Monitor and document student progress and behavior data for the student you support.
• Provide instructional help and adapt activities to the student’s needs.
• Attend training and participate in district safety and de-escalation programs.
• Maintain confidentiality and collaborate with families and service providers.
