Job summary

Vancouver Public Schools Lincoln Elementary in Vancouver, Washington seeks a Special Program Paraeducator 1:1 for the Integrated Social Emotional Program (ISEP). This one-on-one position features 6.5 hours per day, 9 months per year, starting immediately.

The role supports a student with disabilities under the guidance of certificated staff, requires strong teamwork, and involves de-escalation, data collection, and instructional assistance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, plus one of: official transcripts for an Associate’s degree OR 72 quarter/48 semester credits OR ETS ParaPro Assessment 455+.
• One year of related experience with children in educational settings preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities; ability to de-escalate and manage behavior.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support under teacher supervision in a one-on-one setting.
• De-escalate emotional/behavioral crises and implement behavior plans.
• Assist with data collection, lesson materials, and record keeping.
• Grade, correct papers, and assist with routine classroom tasks as directed.
