Job summary

BrightView is seeking an Irrigation Technician to install and maintain irrigation systems across landscapes, parks, and green spaces. The role involves operating trenchers and soil compactors, conducting inspections, and performing seasonal start-ups and winterizations.

The position requires 1–5 years of irrigation experience, a valid driver’s license, and a willingness to work outdoors in varying weather. Pay is $25/hr with benefits typical of a full-time, on-site role.

Qualifications

• 1-5 years prior landscape irrigation experience required.
• Knowledge of communication cable and radio communication/hardware preferred.
• Knowledge of mechanical fittings and mechanical gate valves.
• Understanding of irrigation controller hardware.
• Two wire system experiences.
• Knowledge of brass valve rebuild preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed irrigation inspections documenting repairs.
• Clean decorative water features.
• Excavate and trench using shovels and other excavation hand tools.
• Backfill and compact in clean manner to minimize spoils.
• Maintain work areas and jobsite in clean, safe condition.
• Train and mentor personnel on technical irrigation topics.
• Properly adjust sprinklers and replace valves and nozzles.
• Install and program conventional and smart controllers.
• Install sensors and flow meters and master valves.
• Complete water saving upgrades.
• Operate excavation equipment (walk behind trencher and soil compactor).
• Record materials and labor used to complete each job.
