Job summary

BrightView Landscapes, LLC is seeking an Irrigation Technician to install and maintain irrigation systems for parks, landscapes, and green spaces. The role involves operating trenchers and soil compactors, performing inspections, and executing annual start ups and winterizations.

The candidate should have 1–5 years irrigation experience, a valid driver’s license, and may require a TCEQ Irrigator's Tech license.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years landscape irrigation experience required.
• TCEQ Irrigator's Tech license preferred/required.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed irrigation inspections documenting repairs.
• Clean decorative water features.
• Excavate and trench using shovels and other excavation hand tools.
• Backfill and compact in clean manner to minimize spoils and settling.
• Maintain work areas and jobsite in clean, safe condition at all times.
• Maintain vehicle, tools, and equipment in clean and well stocked condition.
• Train and mentor personnel in lower positions on irrigation topics.
• Adjust sprinklers and nozzles; replace sprinklers including check valves.
• Install HE and conventional nozzles and know precipitation rates.
• Cement weld PVC per ASME B31.1 procedures.
• Repair lateral lines and mainlines up to 6 inches.
• Replace irrigation valves; service valves on request.
• Seasonal start ups, drip conversions, and winterizations.
• Install controllers (conventional and smart).
• Program controllers; install rain/soil sensors and flow meters.
• Complete water saving upgrades.
• Operate trenching/compaction equipment; diagnose electrical faults with multi-meter.
• Trace underground wires and locate faults with locator.
• Troubleshoot irrigation electrical issues and record materials used.
