Job summary

George Washington University invites applications for the IRB Analyst I within the Office of Human Research. You will assist in managing and reviewing human research study applications to ensure timely approvals in accordance with regulations and university policy.

Responsibilities include supporting senior staff in risk and protocol analyses, coordinating IRB submissions and continuing reviews, and aiding in post-approval activities to protect research participants’ rights and welfare.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required by start date; may substitute with equivalent education/experience.
• Experience with human subjects research or regulatory analysis is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the management and review of human research study applications at all levels of review.
• Conduct risk, compliance and protocol analyses to determine level of risk and ensure timely approvals.
• Coordinate with IRB members to ensure timely review of new submissions and continuing reviews.
• Support the IRB meeting process and advise investigators on required protocol changes.
• Counsel investigators on post-approval changes to promote participant rights and welfare.
