Job summary

The George Washington University Office of Human Research (OHR) is seeking an IRB Analyst I to support the research community through guidance, education, and oversight for the protection of human subjects.

The role reports to the OHR Director and assists in managing and reviewing human research study applications at all levels and stages of review to ensure timely, accurate approvals in line with regulations and policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.
• Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regulatory risk, compliance and protocol analyses of research applications to determine risk level.
• Coordinate with OHR staff and IRB members to ensure timely review of IRB submissions and continuing review of protocols.
• Assist in the management of the convened IRB meeting process and provide recommendations to revise, minimize, or mitigate risk.
• Counsel investigators on post-approval changes and help ensure compliance with federal guidelines and university policies.
