Job summary

University of Virginia seeks a Junior IRB Analyst to serve as an IRB generalist within the HRPP. Under supervision, you will review and process a full spectrum of IRB submissions to ensure compliance with federal regulations and UVA policies.

This is a hybrid on-site role at UVA Charlottesville, requiring 2-3 days on campus weekly. The candidate must show strong ethics understanding, attention to detail, and ability to communicate regulatory information clearly.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma is required.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field.
• Experience: at least two years in research compliance or related area.

Responsibilities

• Review new protocol submissions for regulatory compliance and informed consent adequacy.
• Process continuing reviews and verify ongoing compliance.
• Apply 45 CFR 46, 21 CFR 50 & 56, ICH GCP, HIPAA, FERPA and UVA policies in evaluations.
• Determine review pathway and prepare materials for IRB meetings.
• Evaluate modification requests and communicate outcomes to researchers.
