Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems, based at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, seeks a Modeling & Simulation Systems Engineer – Level 2. The role requires on-site work with potential relocation support and a Secret clearance to start.

The candidate will develop high-fidelity threat models and simulations, validate data, and collaborate with a cross-functional team to ensure robust, accurate results for Missile Defense Systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in STEM with 2 years of technical experience, or Master’s with 0–2 years.
• Active U.S. Secret clearance to start.
• Proficiency in Python, MATLAB or other scripting languages.
• Foundational knowledge of aerothermodynamics, radiative transfer, fluid dynamics, and molecular spectroscopy.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% and work on-site at Schriever Space Force Base.
• Experience with large-scale data, verification and validation of simulations.

Responsibilities

• Data engineering and validation of large multi-dimensional datasets.
• Meticulous verification and validation of technical data.
• Troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of simulation failures.
• Reading, debugging legacy in-house tools and scripts.
• Collaborating with cross-functional team and documenting results.
