Job summary

Watts & Associates Recruitment seeks an IP & Technology Litigation Associate in Palo Alto, CA, with 2–5 years' experience to join a prominent Am Law 50 global firm. You’ll handle high-stakes disputes, collaborate with partners, and take ownership of important workstreams across patent, trade-secret and technology matters.

The ideal candidate has strong research and writing, solid discovery management, and California Bar admission or eligibility.

Qualifications

• Approximately 2–5 years of IP or complex technology litigation experience.
• Experience handling patent, trade-secret or technology-related disputes.
• Strong legal research, writing and analytical abilities.
• Experience drafting substantive motions and briefs.
• Strong discovery and case-management fundamentals.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Admission to the California Bar, or eligibility to obtain admission promptly.

Responsibilities

• Draft pleadings, motions and substantive briefs.
• Conduct legal and technical research.
• Manage discovery and document-production workstreams.
• Prepare for claim-construction proceedings where applicable.
• Work with fact, technical and damages experts.
• Prepare witnesses for depositions and hearings.
• Support depositions, hearings and trial preparation.
• Contribute to case strategy and settlement analysis.
• Assist with appellate, ITC or PTAB matters where relevant.
