Watts & Associates is working discreetly with a highly regarded Am Law 100 national full-service law firm seeking an IP & Technology Litigation Associate to join its San Francisco office. The role covers high-stakes patent, trade-secret and technology disputes before courts and specialist forums for major corporate clients.

Ideal candidate has 7+ years of IP or complex technology litigation, strong research and writing, and California Bar admission (or eligibility).

Qualifications

• Approximately 7+ years of IP or complex technology litigation experience.
• Experience handling patent, trade-secret or technology-related disputes.
• Strong legal research, writing and analytical skills.
• Experience drafting substantive motions and briefs.
• Strong discovery and case-management fundamentals.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Strong academic credentials and sophisticated law-firm experience.
• Admission to the California Bar, or eligibility to obtain admission promptly.

Responsibilities

• Draft pleadings, motions and substantive briefs.
• Conduct legal and technical research.
• Manage discovery and document-production workstreams.
• Prepare for claim-construction proceedings where applicable.
• Work with fact, technical and damages experts.
• Prepare witnesses for depositions and hearings.
• Support depositions, hearings and trial preparation.
• Contribute to case strategy and settlement analysis.
• Assist with appellate, ITC or PTAB matters where relevant.
